Electricians' Union Accepting Registrations for Apprentice Program

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 and the Electrical Contractors’ Association invite interested applicants 17 years or older to register for electrical apprenticeships.
The apprenticeship program is being offered through theElectrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Trust. Registration will take place every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. until further notice.
Apprenticeship candidates must register in person at the IBEW-NECA Technical Institute, 6201 W. 115th St., Alsip, and bring the following documents:
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Original Social Security Card
Also, applicants should bring copies of the following documents that will be kept by EJATT (no documents may be copied in the EJATT office and none will be returned):
  1. A $25 non-refundable registration fee (money order only made payable to EJATT).
  2. Proof of employment eligibility (copy of U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport, certificate of U.S. citizenship or naturalization, or permanent alien card).
  3. Proof of high school graduation, such as official or unofficial high school transcript, copy of high school diploma or GED certificate. Current high school seniors may register with acceptance contingent upon graduation.
  4. Copy of transcript showing proof of one full year of high school level algebra with a “C” grade or better, or one post-high school level algebra course of higher level course with a grade of at least “C” or better. Please note that the GED math certification does not satisfy this requirement.
