Summer Program at DePaul for sophomores and juniors


College Connect Summer Program at DePaul University

 Looking for a fun and academically challenging summer program?

What: College Connect is a five-week academic enrichment, cultural exploration and career awareness experience that exposes high school students to college possibilities through non-credit bearing college-level courses, college readiness workshops, seminars and field trips. Set at DePaul University’s beautiful Lincoln Park campus, students will learn from dedicated instructors, explore the city and rise to college-level expectations.

This year’s courses include topics on Black Arts Movement as Critical Media Literacy; The Science of Violence; Poster Art & Activism; Black & Brown Perspectives on Education & Policing in Chicago; and Art and Literature of the Marginalized.

When: Monday through Thursday, June 27th to July 29th, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Where: DePaul University, Lincoln Park campus, Chicago, IL

Program Fee: None. However, students are responsible for transportation to and from campus.

Application deadline March 31st.

 How: Students must apply for admission to the program.  A complete application includes:

ü  High school transcript

ü  Letter of recommendation from high school counselor or teacher

Eligible students must be a current sophomore or junior and attend a high school within the city of Chicago.  Students are selected based upon a number of criteria, including essays, counselor or teacher recommendation, and academic record.
